I'm a Jed, Jed as in Jedrek (Mularski).  I live in 
San Diego, where I am a graduate student in history.

According to family legend, my name came from the New
Age Baby Name Book, which says it's a Polish name.
 
My Polish math teacher told me she had never heard of
such a name.  Some Polish guy I met in a hostel told
me lots of Polish people have the name Jedrek.  Either
way, I generally go by Jed because it's an incredible
name and because people are less likely to misspell my
name as Jedrick, Jedrik, or Jedric.

I also have two fish named Jed and they seem to like
the name as well.
